PASSPORTS

For information concerning passport requirments at international destinations, contact the Travel Advisory Section of the U.S. State Department website.

AAA does NOT issue passports. However, passport applications are available at branch offices.

Visit the U.S. Department of State's Web site for information on obtaining a passport.

AAA does take passport photos (members pay $5 +tax, non-members pay $10 +tax) for two pictures.

INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT

Valid in over 150 countries and printed in 10 languages, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is a valuable form of identification should you need to communicate with foreign authorities - even if you are not planning to drive.

Obtain an IDP at any AAA branch office. Bring a valid U.S. driver's license, $15 and two passport-size photos, which are 2 inches x 2 inches, with a white background.  We can also take photos for you at a nominal charge. 

You may also download the IDP application here (PDF - 2.16MB) and mail it along with a photocopy of a valid U.S. driver's license (must copy BOTH sides), $15 (No cash! Make check payable to "AAA New York") and two passport-size photos, which are 2 inches x 2 inches, with a white background.  Omission of any required information will delay processing.
